Background

Crescent Foundation, is a (501(c)3 non-profit organization, responsible for advocating and supporting evidence-based care for patients, families, and communities affected by Sickle Cell Disease [SCD] through collaborative action and innovative initiatives.

We are a “for us, by us” entity thus, prioritizing individuals living with SCD. We are passionate about providing the highest quality of care through on-site treatment facilities, education, mentoring, research, and fundraising. Our core leadership group is composed of a talented mix of individuals living with SCD, and caregivers (doctors, nurses, social workers & parents) who uphold the highest standard and quality of life allowing us to speak profoundly from a unified expert point of view.

We, the patients, caregivers, and providers believe individuals living with SCD deserve to experience a heightened quality of life rather than a consistent uphill battle when it comes to receiving proper treatment, care, and education. Many of our peers (young and old) have unnecessarily passed away due to this fact.

We believe that through the creation of SCD-focused treatment facilities, research and investments for a universal cure, educational programming, fundraising, and effective outreach, we envision a world where all patients live fully, freely and are uninhibited due to their diagnoses.

Upholding the values of Community, Equity, Transparency, and Innovation, we aim to create a SCD community that feels empowered and is equipped with the knowledge and resources to assist in eradicating this devastating and debilitating disease.
