About Dr. Ashara Cashaw

Dr. Ashara Cashaw is a licensed Clinical Psychologist serving children and families in the Philadelphia community for over 20 years. As a sickle cell warrior, her passion in serving others began as an Adolsecent Peer Educator at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a teen. Dr. Cashaw graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with her Masters in Social Work in 2002 and embarked on a career in medical & psychiatric social work. Her desire to make a meaningful impact on the youth mental health crisis in Philadelphia, lead her to pursue and obtain her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM).

Dr. Cashaw provides direct clinical services at Positive Mind and Body, an outpatient practice in Bala Cynwyd,  PA.  As a licensed clinical psychologist, she provides individual therapy, family therapy, and evaluation services in conjunction with her child psychiatrist colleagues. Dr. Cashaw has expertise in applied behavior analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused brief treatment approaches help patients improve their emotional well-being and make lasting behavioral changes to support peace of mind.

The Equitable Access To Rejuvenating Therapeutic Healthcare (E.A.R.T.H.) Program aims to help minimize barriers to comprehensive, culturally sensitive and holistic providers, therapies and resources that support the quality of life for individuals living with #SCD by making doula, midwifery, acupuncture and massage therapy services accessible. Why: Consistency with uplifting our organizational pillars continues to be an important aspect to our programming.
